The Padmashree Charitable Trust was started in the year 1994 with a vision of establishing an organization working for social cause. This lead to start Padmashree Group of educational institutions to cater needs of the society.

Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Sciences a Deemed University was granted this status by the University Grants Commission in 2005.
